A Co-educational Day School for children aged 4 to 13 set in 40 acres of attractive gardens and playing fields some 8 miles south of Guildford. It offers boys and girls a stimulating and demanding curriculum which also caters for individual needs. There is special provision, both for those with learning difficulties and for those preparing for scholarship examinations to senior schools.
The school has a Roman Catholic foundation but pupils from other denominations are most welcome. The school has its own chapel and the pupils are encouraged to participate fully in leading assembly and other special services.
A new technology centre was opened in 1997 which allows all pupils to study art, design, textiles, ceramics, food technology and photography. A new computer centre was also completed in 1997 which provides powerful multimedia machines and colour printers for all aspects of the teaching programme. Children are taught French by a specialist from the age of 4 whilst older pupils study Latin and philosophy. Science covers several disciplines including astronomy and electronics.
Several drama productions take place each year. In addition to performing on stage, our boys and girls can gain experience in set design, lighting and choreography. Music is an important element in the life of our school. Children can study an instrument and take the appropriate examinations. There is also the opportunity to join our choirs and small ensembles.
A wide range of games is offered including Rugby, Soccer, Hockey, Cricket, Netball, Tennis, Athletics, Judo and Archery. The school has its own heated swimming pool. Educational visits, both locally and overseas, reinforce what is done in school.
We believe our pupils benefit enormously from the strong pastoral care which underpins the high academic standards.
